Ryan liked camping too!

He stayed up super late the first night- after napping on the drive out and long enough for us to get almost everything set up!
He thought hanging out with daddy next to the fire was super exciting!

He wore a dog costume to keep warm in the morning (auntie ems bought it for Trent a long time ago).

Daddy took him out by the water to look at birds.

He took tons of naps (probably because everything was so exciting!).

...and he tried to eat a tree.

Campings is good

Just in case you were wondering, Trent says "campings is good" and that means he liked it. Especially the water, the playground, the snake, the campfire, and running around like a maniac since we had pretty much the whole tent area to ourselves! Of course, when we told him about camping initially he was a bit reluctant to go:

but after we got there, set everything up, and had time to play and eat dinner- he crashed:

The cooler makes an excellent seat at the table, and bagels were a yummy breakfast food:

The tide was way out on the second morning and the puddles were perfect for splashing in:

He also took some time to gather shells, rocks, and handfuls of muddy sand!

...AND he got his very first 'smore. Once again, he doesn't look thrilled but he tried it and enjoyed most of it. I guess it was too much though, because the last 1/3 of it had to go into the campfire.

He liked camping so much, he's been asking to go back already!

The hanging of a birdhouse

The hanging of a birdhouse is very serious work. Trent painted this little one all by himself about a week ago. Then, it had to be sealed so the little birdies wouldn't lose their colorful new home (of course!). Finally, it was ready to be hung....

Here he is, showing off his handiwork. He sure understands "hold it up so mommy can see" doesn't he?

At first, I think he thought the flamingo might like to live there.

Then, we decided that the bush next to the wind chimes would be an even nicer home!

Ryan was super thrilled with the whole process (obviously)

It took a while, but Trent found the perfect branch for his birdhouse. If you're in the neighborhood, you might ask him to show you- he's so very proud of the whole thing!

Party in Trent's crib!

So many soft blankets to chew on!

Trent was showing Ryan all his stuffed animals!

Ryan even tried standing up like his big brother (but with mommy's help)

...but that didn't last long!

Ryan loves playing with his big brother

A little bit of picture overload today, but these were too cute not to share. Trent wanted to help teach Ryan to sit up, and was trying to explain how the dinosaur worked. Then Ryan fell over sideways and Trent brought him the roll arounds, and used Ryan's arms to roll them. It was really sweet.
